No mention of a death on CBS, hopefully it stays that way.

This is a terrible thing that has happened to some very nice people.
This is the clinic I go to, and it is hard imagine that level of chaos going on inside of such a small facility.
Prayers to all that were inside.

    Unfortunately Kare11 reports one fatality.

I wish I was in the lobby when that old man walked in with a gun. Every bone in both of my hands would be broken right now, and it wouldn’t have been a national news report.

Really hit home here. 2 Guys I hunt/fish with since I was old enough to walk a father son duo, their wife/mom was shot in the abdomen. I grew up with this family as neighbors. I work with her nephew. Great people. Last I heard was she was out of surgery and stable. When I heard of it I knew 3 for sure that work there and a fourth I’m not sure what clinic in town she works for. Scary deal. Sick people in this world.

Obviously all news stations say anything immediately but what I read was he was mad to not be eligible for a covid shot.

If true (and we don’t know if it is) he will get the best medical possible now.

Kare 11 reported that he was previously upset about the health care he had received from this clinic in the past. More specifically, the lack of pain killers that a primary MD wouldn’t give him anymore because she thought he was becoming addicted to them.

Terrible news. You never know when or why someone is gonna snap for some idiotic reason. Let’s all make sure if we know someone that would do this we stop them. Somehow someway.

Prayers for all those affected by this. Injured and traumatised.🙏🙏

Don’t have to spend much time in a hospital to see what nasty things these pain killers can do to a person.

KSTP reporting that ABC news reached the shooter’s brother who hadn’t even heard about the shooting until the media found him and asked him about his brother. He said the shooter had back surgery a few years ago and believes that the opioids he was put on drove him to do this. Similar patterns in many other mass-shootings as well.

I’ve luckily avoided major medical incidents my entire life and have never been in a situation where I’ve had to be on them. But I want nothing to do with them. I’ve also heard too many stories from close relatives in the medical profession.

Easy enough to understand when you realize the hospitals & doctors were getting paid from all sides.

i had a minimually invasive back surgery some years back, they gave me oxy for it. i took it for the first couple days then quit….i ABSOLUTLY did not like how it made me feel…….i switched to an over the counter thing. i could never get hooked on that crap!!!

I had a knee surgery, repaired allot. ACL, MCL, PCL, meniscus…. Sure it was painful. But the bag of drugs they sent home with a 19 year old kid should’ve raised more red flags thank it did. I took Percocet for 1 day, it was the weakest of the 3 they gave me. I’ve never took anything but an occasional Ibubrofrin since. I feel bad for folks that get hooked on the stuff.

I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it publicly here, but as a recovering alcoholic(sober since ’96) I had a scary bout with painkillers several years back. After a surgery, I was given oxy for pain…I didn’t give it a second thought and took one later in the day when I started to get sore. My body and brain LIKED it. A lot. I milked that bottle of painkillers for a good month. Tired? Pop a pill before bed. Stressed? Pop a pill before bed, or in the afternoon, whatever. Had a bit of a time getting my head straight afterwards.
    Addiction is a sneaky thing…

All that aside, it’s terrible to read these news articles all too often, and drifter I’ll keep your friends in my prayers today.

I went down that same road when I was younger. And to get the pills after I tore my rotator in my should was all to easy. I woke up and kicked my own ass one day. And the doctors wrote me scripts like it was nothing.

Had a lower back issue several years ago. They gave me one of the codones, hydrocodone, I think. Did absolutely nothing to the pain or me. I don’t know how that compares to oxycodone in potency, though.

Was given similar after I nearly severed off a finger and again after my appendix went boom, only thing they were effective at for me was making me crap bricks, aleive did more for the pain than they did.

To the original subject, condolences to all those who lost/suffered from this incident.
