I am seeing five shot. A bomb also went off after everyone was evacuated. Looking at another possible bomb the Super 8 motel.

All this is still speculative. Just picking up tid bits from different news outlets. This is still a very active story.

Been listening to the scanner for a couple hours now. Heard a mid60s female with 3 shots to abdomen sent via helicopter to HCMC. Multiple victims possibly 5 workers and 2 patients shot/injured. Multiple helicopter blood drops to Buffalo from surrounding hospitals.
3 or 4 bombs at clinic.
Possible bomb at a nearby hotel where suspect stayed. Sounds like an older white male is the suspect.

Saw about a dozen choppers in route from across the state to the area on flight radar.

Crazy deal for sure! Hoping all who were injured physically recover. Mentally this is not going to be something they easily recover from.

Great to hear she is okay Big-g

My wife had me freaked out because she said my cousin works there. Thankfully she doesn’t anymore and is at a different clinic in Becker now.

Really makes you wonder what the motive was when it happens at a clinic, of all places, and the victims are a mix of employees and patients… That’s if there even was a motive…

My wife showed me there’s a picture of him on Facebook. He’s a 67 year old white guy.

As Sharon has said, the not to be mentioned word, they didn’t know if they where doing vacines there. Pure speculation at this point.

Exactly why everyone should conceal carry. Bad guys don’t care about gun free zones

I disagree although I am generally in favor of conceal and carry, I plan on getting mine honestly. However, if everyone in that clinic had their conceal and carry, there would have been about 25 casualties from all the bullets flying around that clinic by people who had their conceal and carry, but haven’t fired their gun since the test.

This IS however, a prime example of why hospitals (and maybe clinics) need to have armed guards. Most hospitals (at least in the cities) don’t have armed guards. Mine only has security guards who just this year got permission to carry tasers. HCMC, Regions, and probably North Memorial have armed officers but that’s about it. I know if someone came into our hospital ready to shoot up the place they could kill however many people they have ammo for because it would be at least a few minutes before the police got on scene.

Another prime reason of what I said above. The disagreement is senseless. Not trying to change the topic. But being a trained concealed carrier can go a long ways in the state of emergency.

I agree. But I work with a lot of people that I respect in medicine, that I would NEVER want to see with a gun on their hip. I guess I don’t have as much faith in more than about 5% of society to train enough to become a responsible C&C holder to actually be efficient in a stressful situation.

I guess I’d rather see a professional there than Ricky Bobby and his Hi Point.

And yes I completely agree with you 14, armed guards in these places would be great to see. There is plenty of revenue running through these clinics, hospitals, and so on.

That’s the difference. You originally said

Exactly why everyone should conceal carry.

Most people who have worked/trained their way to proficiency with a firearm would not agree that everyone should have one.

I should have written it clearer. Every one should put in the training to carry and be able to protect them selves. I appologize you guys are taking this as I meant that every tom dick and Harry should but uncertified and trained carrying guns for fun chased

Didn’t we used to have a thumbs-up emoji? Anyway, that I agree with bearcat. There’s obviously a big difference between what’s legal and what’s right, and a difference between a licensed firearm owner and a well-trained firearm owner. Plenty of people that carry scare me, just like there’s a part of me that’s always fearful walking through the woods not knowing what “skill level” maybe out there.

I actually wrote a paper for school a few years ago about why the blanket, knee-jerk opinion that “we should just arm our school teachers” isn’t smart, and it’s for the same reasons we’ve been talking about here. Like you, mahto, and I have described, it takes well-trained folks, and security at these places would be better than the blanket “arm everyone” philosophy.

I’ve read your posts and takes on carrying before and I think we’re on the same page.

I just read that a nurse has died from her injuries.

My heart is torn for the family. Odds are there is someone here who personally knows her or is related to her. You have my deepest condolences.
