I tested negative yesterday morning. upon arriving at my girlfriend Mary’s (going on 17 years together) house with daughter and grandkids soon to also arrive, she gets her Covid results…positive. We turned the rest of the family around and I headed home. 3 family get togethers turned on their ear. We are both fully vaxed so praying nothing progresses that puts us in the hospital. As they said in Hill Street Blues, Stay safe out there.

YA, no sh!t !! my stepdaughter calls yesterday letting us know she now has covid and is down and out with all of the symptoms.
She had the shot this summer late and a booster about a month ago, so much for that garbage!!
Christmas for us has been put on hold until she gets well and her hubby continues to test negative.
My biggest concern is for her to get well and hopefully my three grandsons ages 8,4,and 3 dont get it.

It was easier last year when we just hunkered down and did nothing. This year our daughter, son-in-law and 14 & 16 year old grandsons were coming to us from Richmond, Virginia for their first Minnesota Christmas. We’ve always gone out there at Christmas and they visit us in July. We had snowmobiling, a Snobear fishing trip on Red Lake today and a Timberwolves game for Monday lined up. They’re all vaccinated, but son-in-law tested positive on Saturday and one grandson tested positive on Monday. They’re feeling OK, but the trip is off. Trying to see a bright side, friends fishing Red today said the fishing was slow and several of grandson’s favorite T-Wolf players are out. Maybe next year??
Merry Christmas to all!! Time for another eggnog & brandy!

You cant make this stuff up, on google discover news this morning an ” expert ” says that the ohcomeon virus will run rampant through the country bringing this crap to an early end.

If you will take the time to study history including medical history every major illness in this world has started its downhill slide long before any effective vaccine was ever produced.
And, those very vaccines caused more long term effects across the board than they prevented.
This has been written about by many accredited doctors world wide.

Before you flame me for that, take the time to research it for yourself, and hopefully the truth hasnt been taken down before it can be read, well, there are books that contain the truth but it takes some folks too much effort to go to the library.

Had surgery scheduled and had the mandatory test at 0630 Tues. Came up positive, which kinda shocked me. I am a pure blood and was sick 2 weeks prior, with most of the Omicron Chy-Na virus symptoms. My illness was mild and it passed in 72hrs.

What really wrangled me was when I went to the entrance after calling for my ride (45 min away), the 20-something ginch at the front desk called 2 rent-a-cops to escort me from the building. Seems a hospital is no place for sick people.

I had zero symptoms at all and was forced into the cold. May have to talk with an attorney about this behavior.

Ya, but what if the dinosaurs actually died from a worldwide pandemic??? We don’t know since they didn’t write this down one way or the other. At least we as humans can, and mitigate these dilemmas…or at least have a fighting chance.

Everyone will get it eventually. But what will determine if it’s manageable or a disaster is how fast it spreads especially amongst those Unvaxed and susceptible. If we can keep the rate low enough, our medical system can cope. The day that your hospital’s ICUs reach 100% full, the very next person won’t get proper treatment. That includes heart attacks, strokes and others. Heaven forbid this happens to you or your family. Let’s be smart and work through this or we may go the way of the dinosaurs.

Speaking of vaccines, drugs, and the like, I found out yesterday my Grandpa was a drug addict.
He was addicted to viagra, poor old grandma took it harder than anyone else.

My mother-in-law who is 64 has it now and missed Christmas the other day.

She’s not vaccinated and doing “okay”, but definitely not great. O2 saturation in the low 80’s, horrible cough, pneumonia, rapid heart rate, elevated blood pressure etc. She went to the hospital today but they turned her back around to go home. There’s people in worse shape that need more attention (from all illnesses).

I’ve always been an advocate that the shot is your own personal choice, but when someone is creeping up on 60 or older and says they won’t get the jab it makes me cringe a little.

If I was that age I would likely have gotten it myself.

My buddy’s stepdad who was obese and 78 recently passed away directly from Covid. He was totally against the shot. Who knows if it would have helped him, but it’s too late to find out now.

I had Covid a few months ago. Not going to lie, it SUCKED, but I’m “young” and in good shape too. Glad to have natural immunity now though. I gave it to three confirmed people, two of which were vaccinated (one was my wife).

We never tested the boys, but they only got the sniffles while living with my wife and I the entire time. Zero doubt they had it, but it just didn’t affect them.

Mary…I mean Merry Christmas to all you guys, wishing you all the best!

Logic, feelings, politics, rationale, ideology, freedoms, and tyrany. These are all human concepts and we employ them to try and manipulate our world.

Now we have this virus that we call a disease. But the virus knows none of this. It is simply an organism that is programmed via its dna to reproduce. I doesn’t “know” anything. It has no ability to think. It doesn’t know it kills or hurts or cause anguish. It has no conscience. It can’t be bargained with…it won’t give up, all it does is replicate. What a simple, blissful existence a virus has and it doesn’t even know it. It is just a cold, a cold that given the right environment will replicate and consume its environment that it doesn’t even know it’s harming or even killing. Why in good conscience should we as humans enable it to do this.

Despite all this, all I can do is pray for the woman I’ve loved for 16 years and hope I see her in good health on the other side of this. All this while watching from afar.

If NFL numbers mean anything, the new one is everywhere and not really making people sick. That seems better. Not sure how anyone could count the numbers except in a group that gets tested every few days like the NFL.

Last year I took clear plastic sheeting and strung it on one side of my living room adjacent to the entry from floor to ceiling, taped all edges, and in that area of the room put a small window fan blowing from inside to out creating the negative air pressure needed to control where the air is going. Had all my folks over and created quite the covid memories.

This whole thing is just a stupid small bug. We can be smarter than this and still live life, might be a lil different but can still do stuff.

Playing tic tac toe thru a plastic sheet bc the world has a pandemic going around while passing deviled eggs thru a slot, that’s the type of weird as$ poop a Grandma will never forget, and is quite the story in her picture book that will get passed down one day.

    lol

Don’t be lulled into complacency. While the Omicron may not be as aggressive, the original and very lethal Covid-19 is still out there along with the Delta variant. They haven’t gone anywhere. If we become complacent because of the very early reports of the Omnicron, we make ourselves more accessible to the two that came before it. Just watch the hospital admission numbers and whether those admissions translate into deaths.

It’s kind of like Vietnam. GIs would go into a village. All the inhabitants were VC. The majority were benign women and children, but lurking among them were someone with a rifle ready to kill as many of our guys as possible. Drop your guard at your own peril.

Before you flame me for that, take the time to research it for yourself, and hopefully the truth hasnt been taken down before it can be read, well, there are books that contain the truth but it takes some folks too much effort to go to the library.

What you’re referring to is an example of Muller’s Ratchet. Select pressure that moves a virus from high lethality and lower transmissibility to low lethality to higher transmissibility. I don’t know why the concept is controversial but nobody has wanted to talk about it until omicron. This is how all covid viruses evolve.

We can not use real logic when discussing covid. Only fear may be used.

I think everyone needs to listen closely to this sound advice.

This mechanic from Iowa has done his research and I would strongly suggest doing whatever he says over whatever education and research an actual “doctor” has devoted their lives to.
