My mother-in-law who is 64 has it now and missed Christmas the other day.
She’s not vaccinated and doing “okay”, but definitely not great. O2 saturation in the low 80’s, horrible cough, pneumonia, rapid heart rate, elevated blood pressure etc. She went to the hospital today but they turned her back around to go home. There’s people in worse shape that need more attention (from all illnesses).
I’ve always been an advocate that the shot is your own personal choice, but when someone is creeping up on 60 or older and says they won’t get the jab it makes me cringe a little.
If I was that age I would likely have gotten it myself.
My buddy’s stepdad who was obese and 78 recently passed away directly from Covid. He was totally against the shot. Who knows if it would have helped him, but it’s too late to find out now.
I had Covid a few months ago. Not going to lie, it SUCKED, but I’m “young” and in good shape too. Glad to have natural immunity now though. I gave it to three confirmed people, two of which were vaccinated (one was my wife).
We never tested the boys, but they only got the sniffles while living with my wife and I the entire time. Zero doubt they had it, but it just didn’t affect them.
Mary…I mean Merry Christmas to all you guys, wishing you all the best!
