They got a bad rap, but overall the ability to record on your phone or tablet is very handy as is the range. I liked mine, but sold it for a dedicated unit that I could worry less about (IE kids dropping phones down holes) –

I caught my biggest ever largemouth with one last year so near and dear to my heart.

I was one of the first to buy one last year, I returned it a few days later, the panner motor is junk. They claimed to have improved it this year, we shall see…

The idea is cool, but the finished product lacks any quality, the interface software could be improved, the recorded video was extremely grainy and poor quality…I was able to purchase a Marcum VS825SD a few weeks later for about the same price, it’s nice having everything in one unit.

I think the biggest benefit to this item is for the hard-side drop-down owner that’s looking to get remote viewing potential to monitor a break or tip-up outside of the house. Not having to be right next to the camera has its advantages, especially if you just want to check on how your tip up is doing, or if fish are moving up to a piece of structure you’re just off of.
