Hey everyone – new to this forum. Really enjoy fishing with a camera and looking to upgrade my 20 year old model. I have been looking at Marcum models. Thoughts and suggestions. Thanks

I debated between the Marcum Pursuit and Quest. Heard a lot of good things about both. I chose the Pursuit for portability and fact I can still hook up to TV in Ice Castle. I’ve heard pic quality is excellent on Quest also.

Both cameras use 1080p sensors, so image quality should be comparable when output to an HDTV at 1080p resolution. The built-in display on the Pursuit is 720p, whereas the Quest HD is below HD spec at 800 x 480. It also depends if you want to hole hop (go with Pursuit HD) or remain stationary (go with Quest HD).

Has anyone compared either of the Marcum HDs to the Aqua-Vu Gen2? What intrigues me about the AV is their Tru Color technology.bi frequently fish a lake that has quite the algae bloom and is really green. I’ve also thought about putting magenta cellophane over the lense of my current cam to see if that filters out the green.

I tried out the Vexilar cam a few times last year and really liked it. I believe it’s cheaper as well. Haven’t heard many others that have used it, so can’t vouch too much, just a heads up that’s it’s out there.

Also looking at cameras, and trying to figure out if the pursuit is worth the extra 200 bucks.

There’s a few vexilar cams online, for about $250, trying hard to not buy one right now.

I’ve had my Marcum Recon 5 for a few years and like it.

That’s a good question I have searched the net without finding any real comparisons .

I have a vex camera and love it. Have a flx 28 that rarely gets used when I’m perch and bluegill fishing. Its a game changer when they are light biting.

Aqua Vu in my experience, especially for pocket cameras are far superior. My Recon was honestly awful

I have the Marcum 825sd and use it in the boat really like it except for when they claim sunlight viewable.
