Any body else with these units experience this issue? I bought a Showdown 5.6 (single beam) in December 2013, I feel like I have treated it as my own son…. I’ve been charging it through out the year and last night when I took it off the charger I was just doing an overall check of the unit. I noticed the transducer cord has a slip cut in it. I’m just curious what would cause this? The only thing I can think of is maybe it snagged on some ice while down the hole? Possible just wear and tear, but I feel like it’s still to young for that… any ideas?

Possibly rubbed against your auger blade during transport?

Hey Zipdog – have you contacted Marcum Customer Service? They know more about their ice units than anyone. I’d try that first – http://marcumtech.com/support/

    Thanks!

I did contact Marcum and I’ll be sending it in for repair, didnt really get any causes for it from them though. Just was wondering if anyone else has seen this with their units. Just upset I didn’t notice it earlier in the year and will be without it for first ice.
