I am looking at purchasing some new gear for the season. I am having trouble deciding between the two. I do have a CFish R1 that I am trying to sell to go more portable with the camera and not so bulky. The only type of GPS mapping that I run is Navionics on my phone which can be kind of annoying expecially while driving the snowmobile. Any input would be great.
I should also mention I run a vexilar FL20 for a flasher.
I don’t know what the battery consumption is on the helix 7 or if that is even a concern. You may want to research and possibly downgrade to a 5″ screen to save on juice.
DON’T drop down in screen size—you’ll regret it. I have the helix 5 and the screen is way too small. My next unit will be 7 inch or larger

I use the helix 7. I run it on a 4amp. Lithium battery and it last forever.
