Marcum Recon 5+ depth reading issues

I’m curious if anyone has had problems with the depth reading properly on your recon 5+ camera. My original unit didn’t work after the first time out. I sent it in to Marcum and they said send it back and they will send out a new unit as they’ve never heard of that happening before. I got my new one on Friday and went out to scout in the afternoon and exact same thing. It reads 2-3ft 20ft.down or 8-10ft 40ft. down. I tried resetting to the defaults and unplugging and re-plugging in the camera cable but same thing. I will have to email Marcum tomorrow and see what they say.

yup, ive had the same problem. there was a post a few weeks ago with this topic discussed and others reported the same thing. ive contacted Marcum and am planning on sending my unit in too but its disappointing to hear that you’ve already gone through that and its not fixed. I wonder how Marcum will deal with what might to be shaping up to be a faulty feature.

good lord have they released anything in the last few years that DIDN’T have major problems out of the box? Embarrassing….

I purchased a LX-5i brand new in a sealed box from Gander a month ago and it did NOT have a serial number sticker on the back of the head unit, kind hard to register it without a serial #

I mean seriously, How do they NOT put a serial number on it? How does that get by anybody with a pulse in the quality department?

I feel ya JoeMX. Makes me feel real nervous being a Marcum owner. Im not disappointed in the camera purchase right now as I don’t feel like there was a comparable model being offered by another company that suited my needs but I think my next flasher will be a Vex.
