Just curious what kind of deals people have gotten in the past on the Recon 5. Looking at possibly getting one soon for making quick checks of bottom terrain and to id fish. Been checking around a lot lately not really looking to pay full on retail just wondering if deals are that good or not and if I should wait a little longer. Might be a little early yet for sales I know thanks!

I found one back in November on eBay for $235(new) it was from an outdoor store in Missouri I believe. Other wise the Gander 25(30%) coupons were working on it back in December.

$235 is better than what I’ve been seeing around lately! Have to just keep checking.

Check the Rapala site – they have been having deals recently with free shipping and 15% percent off for purchases over $100. I think if you sign up to get their emails they do additional deals. If you watch I think you can get up to 25% off – gets you down to about $225 new.

I like mine quite a bit. It is definitely the ticket for setting tip ups. Lower the camera to the top of the weeds then use that much line off the bottom of the tip up to set the bait. We were in a city of fishermen and had 6 flags. We only saw one other tip up go off with literally 12 other shanties around us. The weeds were very thick, having out baits out of the grass made all the difference. It also keeps my 7 year old excited when the action is slow. For me personally I still fish over a flasher. The cable gets tangled up too easy with the fish.
