I just bought a marcum recon 5+ and was wondering if anyone else has one and if you use a tripod like an aqua-vu mopod or something to keep the camera still.

MarCum’s camera panner is what I use. Works slick. They offer a wireless and wired version. Here’s the link to the wired version.

Thanks for the reply James, do you find that it is a must have with this unit or does the camera cooperate pretty well?

In my opinion you don’t need a panner if you’re using the camera strictly to scout where you’re dropping the camera, giving the cord a spin to see what’s around the hole, then move on to the next hole to repeat.

But if you’re going to fish with the camera in a hole for an extended period of time a panner is a must have in my opinion as it simplifies aiming the camera and holding it at a precise depth while freeing up your hands to fish instead of hold a cord.

X2 on the wireless panner. Works great in the ice houses.

I really like the wireless panner also and actually have both. But the wireless for some reason isn’t as capable of very small movements as the wire one is. Also I’ve set mine up in the kitchen trying to get an idea of the width of the viewing field. Anyone’s opinion on this ? I think about 3’
