Wondering how the Marcum Pancam works. Heard some positive and negative comments on the unit. Intersted in hearing others opinions. And one question I have about it is how it works in the dark. Because I mainly fish at night so I need it to see in dark water.

It works no differently than other Marcum cameras in the dark (limited particle effect vs other cameras) . The biggest issue I had with the PanCam was the joke of a panner motor they used. I routinely couldn’t pan more than 90 degrees in either direction (and I had the cable mounted correctly with adequate slack) you could hear the pan motor struggle and ultimately fail everytime. Other issues (Terrible video output resolution, short wifi range, glitchy interface) can & will get fixed with software updates, but there’s nothing they can do about the panner motor other than replacing it with a stronger model and that won’t happen until next years model at the earliest…
The idea is awesome, the execution was a joke, that’s why I was one of the first to buy and then return it for a full refund.

I can tell you I returned my PanCam and then got a like new Marcum VS825SD camera off c-list for only $90 more and couldn’t be happier! I really like how the 825 camera will be easier to use in the summertime searching for bottom structure…VS825SD camera is the worth every penny, love it!
