    James –

Does the shuttle have a simple 1 cable plug-in port or AC dongle to charge the battery?

Yes, the charging port is located on the left side of the Lithium Shuttle. The first photo shows the connector from the charger and the closed charging port.

The next the charging port open.

The final with the charging plug inserted.

well that explains the port! thanks!

Can you show us how the ducer cord and ducer itself are stored?

ow does the transducer cable storage work? (Wrapped inside the carry handle? or does the cable get concealed under the plastic?)

The transducer cable wraps up inside the handle.

Here’s a better shot showing the transducer wrap and transducer storage.

If you’re making a big move and want to make sure the transducer doesn’t go anywhere there’s a set of winding “pegs” intended to hold the transducer firmly in place. Honestly I never used them. I would wind up the excess cable inside the handle, place the transducer in the transducer holder, put the Lithium Shuttle in the included 5 gallon pail and the transducer was right where I left it when I got to my destination. Call those winding pegs added security… if you’re not using the bucket I guess.

James… Can we look at battery and the internal storage and connection? I’m curious about if it’s a normal lithium iron battery or some unique shaped battery and how it’s connected. And that’s for that rod storage pic

I don’t have time to take mine apart right now but know it can be done. The battery is accessible (and I assume replaceable should something happen) through a bottom plate that has a thick compression gasket held in place by 17 screws.

For what its worth the battery is rectangular… I spotted one on the desk of one of the engineers working on the development of the shuttle so I know this battery isn’t a customized shape.

I don’t blame u for not wanting to take it apart. So since u spotted it. It looks like a regular lifepo4 battery.. Of course slight taller I presume.

Thanks again, u been much help.

Yeah, similar in shape to the ice force lithium battery… just bigger.

I like it! I need to purchase another unit (too many kids). So I will probably get one of these. I am guessing you cannot stack two units in one pail correct? Just curious to try and cut down on all the buckets, coolers, other Marcum units, snacks (for the kids) that seem to make all my trips a massive undertaking.

I don’t see how it could be done. There’s room at the top of the bucket for small items (I’d use the included screen protector if you wanted to carry additional items) but not nearly enough for a second unit. I’ve attached a couple photos for reference.

Thanks James! I love the features this new shuttle has, I am just trying to weigh which makes more sense. I do have ample storage on my ATV since I have accessory mounts on the side of the front rack and a rear cargo box. I am a bit better equipped to haul the traditional shuttle than more buckets however. I am going to take some time to mull this over a bit, but the features look great.

Wow…I might have to put my 28 in one…I like the RAM mount idea, might steal the mount off my ATV and put my expedition right on the flasher!

I’ll be getting one to put my LX-7 on for sure! The rod holders are a killer idea on the back!

Here’s a quick shot of how I set up my LX-7, Recon 5+, and phone/GPS/Navionics App to the Marcum Lithium Shuttle platform. Phone is attached with RAM X-Grip which screws into either one of the 1/4 -20 accessory ports on the shuttle. I purchased a catch cover camera bracket for the Recon which then clamped down to the shuttle handle. Highly recommend purchasing the Marcum Wireless Panner Kit for this set up which will support the Recon cameras. Highly more effective for camera position and cable management. Both camera and phone can be powered by the USB ports located on the front panel of the shuttle. The picture is obviously for demo purposes, but Amazing system for the investment!! Let there be ICE!!!

No, not yet. The few photos you’ve seen here were either from icast where the lithium shuttle was displayed or from guys that were given samples to test last winter. I’m sure you’ll start to see supplies available at retail sometime in September. Or at least that’s when things start to arrive for the ice fishing season most years.

I like the X-grip mod! Do you have to purchase the threaded base for the x grip or does it come with one?

    I picked up the X-Grip without a base here >>> http://www.rammount.com/part/RAP-HOL-UN7B-201U

    And added a 1″ ball with 1/4-20 threads here >>> http://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-237U

Note – I didn’t buy direct from Ram. I picked both parts up on Amazon. I chose to reference the Ram site so you would have accurate part number info, etc.

I’ve attached some pics to show how it comes together. There’s a ton of different mounts out there that will work – this is just one example of how to add a mount for a handheld GPS or cell phone.

Not to be overly simple, but I’m generally happier about anything if it involves a ram mount.

Anyone happen to know the max range of the M5? I’m trying to find the specs, but the Rapala mobile site is loading as though my dog designed it.

fish – I thought you had “connections” and didn’t need to resort to slummin’ with us peasants and asking such silly questions?? mrgreen

I’m with you though on Ram mounts making things better. Hell, I even put one on my rowing machine to hold my phone while I row (doesn’t mean I use it as much as I should be).

Got my LX-6 mounted on the new shuttle. Seems her cool. Came with a Marcum bucket. I didn’t realize that was coming. Kind of nice.

Can you possibly post a picture of the back? I just ordered a shuttle that I am going to put my helix 7 on and also have the recon camera that I want to place on the shuttle. Thanks!
