Ok, is there anything to be gained going from the “i” to “M” line of flasher? Other than the M series is brushless motor.

Nope lol. Your not gonna see or catch anymore fish with it. Same thing besides brushless motor and claimed brighter lights. I think most can see the lx5i just fine. Wonder if they will offer an upgrade from lx5i to M5 components.

Would be nice if that was possible, everything looks the same but the internals…? If the price is right i wouldnt mind doing the upgrade.

Just sent in my Lx5i in for a warranty repair and they replace it with the m5 component.

I wish they would have done that to mine, but I sent it in last year because the brush went out and the display started jumping all around.

Not sure if you already have an LX5i if it’s worth it to you to upgrade, but I sure couldn’t pass up going from a FL18 to the M5, especially when Sportsman’s Guide had them for $405 shipped in december. Love my M5.

Wait a minute! I was told by someone at marcum that the internals were different so upgrading was not an option. What gives?

If they did replace with the new M5 Brushless it becomes basically a much better unit…almost new short of the screen and should last a lot longer without brushes…plus get rid of the whirling noise which is a bonus.
