I’m looking at getting a new flasher. I have seen some pretty good deals on last year models the lxi series but know the new m series are supposed to be brighter and also are brushless with less issues. What are people’s thougts? Initially I was going To get an m3 but I can get the lx5i for the same price as the new m3. Would it be worth getting the newer version and only getting the m3 vs lx5i? I’m sure the new ones are quieter, more efficient, and brighter. Not sure if the extra 100 bucks is worth the super fine line and dual beam is worth it. Is the super fine line all that and more?

I love the SFL on my LX5i and the dual beam ducer as well…

If your fishing in shallow water and also fishing the depths on occasion I would choose the LX5i at the price point.

I like the SFL as it brings everything to a much crisper point of view… if your finesse fishing and are tipping your small tungsten jig with bait or plastic and the fish either pulls the tipped offering off or the plastic gets moved sideways at an angle causing your jig to spin… you’ll be able to see this on the Marcum..

Either way I think your going to get a super unit.. I have the LX5i and the M3 and will be using them side by side this year cor a live comparison.

I would go with a LX5i if you can find one. There aren’t many left out there with the new M series being distributed.
I found a few lX5i’s at Cabelas in Rogers and they are $399. you can’t beat the price right now for what is out there. Depending on how much you fish and the need for the latest nd greatest should be your deciding factor as well as budget.

However you can get the M3/M5 with the lithium shuttle option for $599/ $699. which isn’t that bad considering the lithium shuttle is $250 alone.

You could also go to the Ice Fishing show this weekend and probably get some good deals on flashers.
