For those of you that have the Lx5i with the charging plug that is supposed to turn green when fully charged….is that working and how long does it take for the stock battery to charge??

I have this unit and I called Marcum about it when I first got the unit a couple years ago because the wall plug never turned green so they sent me a new one then and I’ve been using that since but this one doesn’t turn green either. I plugged it in at about 5pm last night and at 8 this morning the light was still red.

Love the unit and how it works…just not crazy about this charging system.

    Any insight would be helpful….
    Thanks

How old is the battery you’re using? Maybe a factor?

    2 years old.
I have 2 Lx3 units with 2 year old batteries as well, all units have been used basically the same # of hours, same conditions, stored the same way and charged at the same time.
The 2 Lx3 units were at 60-70% when I hooked them up last night and were at 100% in less than 30 minutes last night.

Check battery connections, don’t trust the little led light, or just get a different charger.

buckshot the 5i will have the same charge time as your 3’s the red green light has been a marcum issue for quite some time, a lot of guys have opted for like a battery tend jr option. Good luck!

My lx5 green light worked a couple times and then never again even with new batteries. It seems to charge fine.

I now use a fancier charger when Im home too.

My experience has been that the chargers that come with Marcum and others are cheap and un reliable. I switched to Battery Tenders Juniors and never looked back. They charge quicker and provide battery feed back as to the battery condition.

Get a Battery Tender Junior. The stock charger for the Lx-5i is infamously unreliable. I got an entire season out of mine, so I guess I was lucky.

I and the same problem with my lx7 and then I got an lx5i. The chargers work properly on the 5, but not the 7. It ended up being my connections to the battery on the lx7 that was making the difference. The crimps on my connectors weren’t crimped very well, so I put a better crimp on them and snugged up the connection to the battery and both have charged flawlessly since.

I had the same issue. The fuse was bad. Changed the fuse and all worked fine
