Marcum LX-5 problems

    A buddy of mine got a new LX-5 this year and for some reason when he’s using it the line where the bottom would be marking is constantly moving up and down his flasher. It doesn’t stay in one spot. The bottom depth is constantly fluctuating anywhere from 2-3ft. It still marks fish and your lure fine, but its just annoying to have to watch the bottom constantly moving up and down.
    I also have an LX-5 that I’ve had for a couple years and its been flawless. Love it and haven’t ever had a problem.
    Any idea what would cause this? Should he send it back to Marcum or is there a way to fix it?

    That’s a motor issue. They will fix under warranty in a few days. Not sure if it just the last year or two but pretty common. Just had that done on my LX5. Works great now

    My LX-3tc is doing this. If it says its 10 ft deep it will go between 9-11 feet deep saying the bottom is “moving”… same problem?

    The only reason why I dont own mines anymore. I loved it before that.
