Marcum LX 5 interference

I have two Marcum LX 5’s and fished them together in the shack for the first time. I was fishing in 12′ and couldn’t get the interference to go away. Both units would get all cluttered up, clear up, and then clutter up again. Any suggestions? Thanks, Nate

Sorry but I have to ask, did you push the IR button?

We fished 3 LX-5s and a vexilar in a wheelhouse just fine this weekend. I pushed my IR 3 times to clear it up. I have fished near all brands and models several times and never had an issue.

If that didn’t work, something must be broken.

Raise or lower the transducer, use reg or narrow beam and adjust the i.r on one unit only.

Thanks a lot for the tips. I did press the IR once on one unit and then once on the other and messed with the beam. I didn’t realize that it might take multiple times pushing IR to clear up. I just read users manual and it said just that. Should have read it! Thanks again, Nate

Be sure to only use the IR button on ONE of the units, until you have cycled through all of the available IR modes. Then you can try the IR on both units in different combinations.

Thanks TripleA, so if I cycle through all available IR’s on one unit and it clears that one, then it should clear both?

Yes usually that will clear both
