Hey guys i just recently purchased my first marcum and had a quick question. I got the lx-3tci and for some reason i cannot mark a solid red bottom. Everything on the screen is orange from my lure, to bottom, to fish and I dont know what would cause that maybe ducer? I swapped out the battery and still had the same issue and even tried disconnecting and re connecting the ducer and still not fixed. Is this just normal? or some kind of fix?
    Thanks guys!

Not normal, it’s the gain turned up? I run mine around 3 usually, if it’s not that then someone wrong

I adjusted the gain all the way up and still all orange. more clutter but still the same orange. I wonder if i just got a bad ducer? doah still pretty impressed with target separation though!

I would bring it back, I don’t think it would be a ducer issue, the red bulb might not work, I’m not really sure!

Well gander ended up not being able to make an exchange happen so I just brought the head unit and ducer to the post office. Hopefully its just a ducer!

It is a little frustrating but not the end of the world. Im just really glad I have a back up vex. Still do like the marcum a lot the separation is way better than my fl-18.

Well got my LX-3tci back in the mail saturday and finally got out today. What a world of difference! the target separation is insane and the adjustable zoom is great. Can say I am happy having it back in working order after about 10 days wait granted it is busy season.

Glad you got it fixed. You will also notice it is a lot quieter than your vex! I can’t hear my Vx1 while sitting over it, but I can hear my fishing buddies 18’s from about 20ft away. grin

There’s nothing more soothing than a Vex singing the song of it’s people. Mines running right now and it’s making me fall aslee…..sorry, racked out for a second… where was I going with this?

Glad it was resolved quickly. I’ve heard some horror stories from all 3 major flasher companies but I have always had mine fixed within a week or two. Shoot, Hbird replaced an entire headunit for me for free after it fell out of the sled at 30mph…Cracked the case and broke both knobs off.

That’s why I’m waiting till the end of the season which seems closer now than ever! I don’t want to wait a month to get it back because I don’t have another unit!

Why would you ask a company to replace unit? Isn’t that expensive on you?
