Are peoples led indicators working on marcum chargers? My lx5 one worked a few times but has always been red for years, and my camera one is the same but always green. Both charge and work fine.

There’s been a couple discussions on this issue, end result some do some don’t I’ve got two one does but like yours they both work. There are better options as well such as a battery tender jr.

A few years ago I bought a used LX5 and it came with the DCS that uses the battery gauge/LCD readout, it still works. I also have a a LX7 that uses the charger with the red/green indicator light and it still works. I bough a high dollar battery tender jr for my motorcycle and it burnt out in just over a year. I have four Harbor Freight battery tenders that are going on several years of use. I have two no longer made Exide brand 10amp fully automatic chargers that are excellent. I have lots of things with batteries in them.

One that works and one that doesn’t, however they still charge just fine, so no worries here.

I’ve had this happen to me as well last year, leaving on overnight with red light still on in the morning. In calling MarCum the person on the phone told me the light may not turn green if battery can’t hold a full charge. It was still charging but with volt meter my battery was only around 12.9 volts after about a day on charger. It still worked just didn’t last as long. I got a new battery this fall and the charger will turn green on that one. Long story short now I have a back up battery that just doesn’t last as long!

I may need to try a tender though. That’s a great idea.
