Marcum charger doesn't stop charging

I know a lot of people have complained about this and I might have a solution. I have an lx7 and sometimes the charger would work fine and others it would just stay charging for forever. Last year I picked up a lx5i and the charger for my lx7 always worked right for it as well as the one that came with it, but the lx5i charger acted up with the lx7.

One day while hole hopping, my lx7 kept shutting off on me and then I could turn it right back on until eventually it wouldn’t turn on anymore. I thought my lx7 had took a crap on me. When I got home I was looking it over and found that my battery had came unhooked and that the connector was very loose on the terminal. I grabbed a pliers to squeeze the connector closed to make it fit tighter when I noticed that the connector was barely crimped to the wire. I put a better crimp on both connectors and plugged it back in and to my relief the lx7 was able to turn on again. After that, I charged it and low and behold, the charger worked right and has worked perfectly ever since.

If your charger acts up, check all your connections and make sure the crimps are tight. I think what was happening is that the charger was always working right, but it couldn’t sense that the battery was fully charged because the connections were poor.

I’ve experienced the same issue with my Marcum lx3tc since I brought it home from the store.

I had the exact same issue with my LX-7. Eventually I just bought an extra set of connectors in case it goes out on a fishing trip.

time to switch it up and go either to a battery tender or a DieHard 6/12V charger (menards). I’ve been super impressed with the diehard, but have used lots of battery tenders in the past. Both my flashers are wired with a BT.
