The issue is the fear that is created when elected official’s tell the public that they must do this because it is dangerous to go out into the public without it. Its also the false sense of safety and security that some are getting have simply wearing one.

I’m not here to make any arguments either way, but just offer an opinion and some recent observations.

I don’t think there’s any additional fears now because elected officials have now mandated wearing masks. I believe most everyone knew it was only a matter of when, not if. We all knew it was just a matter of time.

And I think for many up here in my community, if they weren’t required…most did not.

Personally, I did not unless it was required until today.

Last Sunday I stopped at the Holiday in Garrison and next to no one was wearing, even the employees were not. Yesterday most all customers including employees were wearing.

This morning trip to grocery in Aitkin I wore a mask (figured get used to it, tomorrow it’s required) and found almost everyone wearing masks. So it’s flipped from just a week ago.

There were plenty of folks shopping, my observation is mask/no mask will not significantly change people’s shopping habits.

Now tomorrow at the bar? It’ll be interesting how that all looks with the mask mandate. crazy

I was saying some feel it is unsafe because that is what elected official are telling them by requiring mask.

Really Walz said it is dangerous to be in public without one?

The reason he gave for the requirement was for the SAFETY and HEALTH concern of the public. So therefor if Mask wearing is needed for safety then not wearing one must be dangerous. At least that is the way I took it and am sure there are others who did so as well. If not wearing one is not dangerous – Them why the need for the requirement ???????????????????????

I will wear one the few time I feel I need to go someplace in public. As for me I’ll simply spend more time at home and out on the lake. If it has the positive effect as some believe it will – Then we can return back to what was once normal real soon.

Wait you said ‘some feel’. Now you are saying you feel this way and sure other feel the same… doah Anyway, so when the CDC updated their guidelines to wear a mask in early April – not dangerous. Trump wants you to wear a mask, although we all know he is doing that to help his re-election – not dangerous, Pence has been encouraging governors to enact mask guidelines (not right out saying to mandate) – still not dangerous. Walz does the mask mandate (maybe even with the push from Pence? who knows) – OMG IT IS SO DANGEROUS TO LEAVE THE HOUSE!!! Those you reference in the ‘some’ are probably better off to stay hidden in their cave.

Ill follow the law but once again I have to say how disappointed I am in this mandate. It is not fully supported by science and further damages the infrastructure of our society. Rant over. Ill go adjust by $&*@^*&%*& mask now. Thanks a lot. Headed to the cabin in sconny shortly where this madness does not exist,,,,,,yet.

How in the hell does doing something that helps society (wearing a mask to help slow down a pandemic) damage the ‘infrastructure’ of the same society?

If opposing views in an open discussion upset you that much maybe you shouldn’t participate in that discussion? You could start your own website and fully sensor it? Something like Facebook…

If the CDC told us the best way to prevent COVID was to stick a figure up your A**. And after reading this and other threads I believe a lot of people would walk around like that. Just my opinion.
