Well, he passed away in his boat while fishing.

I can think of a lot worse ways of going to the great pond in the sky.
I wonder if he was an IDO member from Hastings?

My condolences to the family he left behind.

This guy made a fatal mistake

As day broke, deputies found Gable’s body inside his boat that had washed ashore about 1,000 feet south of Cash’s Landing.

Autopsy hasn’t even been done yet. Lets wait for results wave

Unfortunately My wife and I were at the Boat launch when he was brought to the dock. His wife and daughter were there and in a dire situation.
It amazes me that people jump to such quick judgments in a such a terrible situation.

I’ve seen many people die slow painful deaths. While this is tragic as any death, there is a part of me that only hopes my own death will be this quick and appropriate for the life I lived.

How terrible an experience for the family.

I’m sorry, but heading out onto Mille Lacs solo mission in a 16 foot aluminum boat with severe weather in the forecast is just not a smart idea. This guy made a fatal mistake.

I think you missed this part of the story….

Tells my he likely had a medical situation and died before he could call for help. Could happen on a 10 acre pond as well. Sad story but if there were any place I’d rather die it would be in my boat over a hospital bed.

This is precisely how I feel and also a very good way to say it, thank you Wade.

    My condolences to the family.

Heat stroke? It was ungodly hot and humid on Friday until those storms rolled through.

Seriously, what gives man? Get off the high horse and go experience life. You don’t need a 20’ ranger with two motors and a second person with you to fish.

Best wishes to the family. No one ever wants to die but there must be some relief in that he died doing what I’m sure he loved…fishing!
