Man Caves

    Anybody have one?

Finally got around to building a sanctuary in the garage.

A little more trim work, a barn door and furnishings and it’ll be done.

Right now I have my tiny ice shack TV in it, but have my eyes open for a big used flat screen.

One wall is reclaimed steel, the others are drywall with a reclaimed pallet wainscote.

It’s been a fun project so far!

The flooring is adhesive vinyl planks from Menards for $.87 a square foot. All the trim is handmade.

I was thinking the same thing, that unit heater could make it into a sauna with some humidity..

    Looks nice

    It has a thermostat mrgreen

I built an oversized barn door so I can still heat the entire garage with the door open, or I can partially close the door to keep the cave warmer than the rest of the garage without short cycling the heater.

I put the door right where the heater blows.

The thermostat will be in the cave itself, that way I can’t accidentally overheat the room if the door gets closed with the heat on. When the room reaches X degrees it will shut off, whether the door is open, partially open, or closed.

I also have the option of just running a space heater in the room when I’m out there (door closed, no heat on in the garage).

You gotta get up and walk out the door to grab another beer from the fridge?!

Don’t you mean it keeps the kids occupied? After all, round is a shape.

Kinda the opposite. We’re having a custody battle over what mounts I get to take.

We have two bears in the living room and she won’t let me take either of them. She won’t even give me my turkey fan because it “goes with the turkey print.” Lol

We compromised on a couple deer heads rotflol

Might try to sneak one more out ) That, or I need to kill some more stuff

Whenever I get the “theres more dead animals fish and birds on the walls then pictures of the kids” I just say a lot of them were there before you and if I wanna see the kids I just look at them. It don’t work that well.

Looks good. The wainscot looks a lot like my man cave made with some 100 year old barn wood.

YA but it’s too nice so if I’m in the dog house I’m stuck in the house rather than going to the “shed”

After all the fancy build-outs on “Man Caves”, I just opted for the real thing. So many years of scouting, I finally found my “sanctuary” Cave. The window view is amazing

I’ve got one in the basement. It’s pretty much filled the to brim with gear and the basement bathroom is filled with about 12 dozen decoys…which I need to find a home for before the second child is born…Maybe my daughter will be privy to the idea of storing decoys in her bedroom?

The boys don’t play with rubber ducks in the tub like most, they have a pair of real decoys mrgreen

I bet your daughter would love the same (12 dozen might be a few too many though) jester

I’ve been working on a log loveseat for the mancave. It’s almost done, just need to seal it with some poly, and momma is sewing up some cushions for it.

I used square 6×6 timbers and chiseled them down to look like a rough log.
