Making Sure the Fish Weren't Biting

    I went out to a very nearby lake to check the ice and found 3.5-4″. Popped a couple holes the old fashioned way to make sure the fish weren’t biting. Boy was I wrong. Spent about 40 minutes freezing my butt off and managed 3 hammer handles. They couldn’t resist that perch rippin rap.

    Many of the local lakes are freezing nicely. Just make sure to take your chisel and check the thickness every 10′.
