Here in the St Cloud area we have had heavy storms with lots of rain and Hail 3 out of the last 4 Days. My rain gage had over 3″ of rain from yesterday and this morning. I drove thru golf ball size hail on Monday and we just had more Quarter size hail here again this morning. I’m all in favor of getting lake levels back up, but we don’t have to do so all in one week. Mother Nature sure has been really angry lately.

Yeah, my son lives in Waite Park and says his car is totaled from the hail. Its missed us at our house North of Sartell, but man the rain and hail in some areas is just incredible. A HS kid at Sauk Rapids shot a picture of the funnel cloud that eventually touched down near Popple Creek and it appeared as if it were right over the HS. Pretty funny since they are the Storm! I had 2.85″ in my gauge this morning and there is another .75″ in it now. There was flooding all over in Sartell and Sauk Rapids. Kid got out early from the Middle School in Sauk Rapids since they lost power and it still hasnt come back on.
May 12, 2022 at 1:42 pm #2123957I’m about 20 miles SE of St Cloud.
We got hail Monday but it missed us yesterday and today thankfully. 3.5 inches in the rain gauge.
61 degrees here right now. 90 degrees my ass..Guessing I’m jumping the gun as the temps are supposed to sky rocket this afternoon…lol

If the sun pops out, which its trying, it will go up quick.
May 12, 2022 at 1:51 pm #2123963make the heat stop too. i have barricaded myself in the basement last 2 days.
CharlesPosts: 1944May 12, 2022 at 1:53 pm #2123964Man I wish and pray for hail so I can get a new roof lol.
Think about this farmers out west haven’t planted or been in the fields yet. So its goings to be a late planting season.
May 12, 2022 at 1:53 pm #2123965Currently 92 degrees here on May 12th at 1:50pm with enough humidity that nothing is drying whatsoever. Gross.
Michael BestPosts: 1203May 12, 2022 at 1:57 pm #2123967So far the only hail we have gotten was marble size in Granite Falls. Just NE of us in Claire city they had golf ball hail. A friend at work bought his son a truck. He gets his DL in June. Well it’s already totaled with all the hail from the other morning.
The Minnesota river came up a foot in the last 24 hours.Attachments:

We are in rural Wabasha County and I’d say that roughly half of the fields are planted, and half are not. The guy leasing from us has 40 acres in and another 160 of ours to go. Most of the stuff he runs on the bluff for other people he has in thankfully. I will be spending the weekend spreading some breaker rock on field accesses and praying for no more rain. The deeper clay stuff with loose topsoil absolutely swallows equipment of any size when it is this saturated.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22783May 12, 2022 at 2:07 pm #2123978Bucky I never realized you were in my county!
Around the ZF area I don’t think there’s even half planted yet.But don’t worry. While you’re busy this weekend maybe I can get in your good mushroom spots ahead you!
ThunderLund78Posts: 2532May 12, 2022 at 2:40 pm #2123990Woke up to golf ball sized hail yesterday morning which wrecked my roof… then at night I rode out the Tornado Warning in the walk-in cooler of our local Brewery/Taproom. Was really hoping for a Strange Brew or Beerfest situation where we’d have to drink our way out, but it was one of their secondary coolers, which was basically just being used to store a pallet of empty Crowler cans. Still, there are much worse places to ride out a storm.
May 12, 2022 at 2:52 pm #212399654 here at home in Cloquet and just lots of rain so far.
Obviously all of the heat has missed us as usual……May 12, 2022 at 3:06 pm #2124001Bucky I never realized you were in my county!

There is some prime mushroom land in your area for sure. Those South facing slopes will be the place to be this weekend!

I was up in the Albany/Melrose/Sauk Centre area today. I’ve never seen so much standing water in my life. The Sauk River is over its banks everywhere. Albany public golf course along 94 is half underwater. Let’s just say that the farmers will not be in the field anytime soon to plant either.
What a difference from one year ago. We go from the worst drought in like 30 years to completely underwater.

Justin riegelPosts: 936StanleyPosts: 1064May 12, 2022 at 6:59 pm #2124059We got damaging hail in foley this morning. For those looking for estimates on vehicles please be patient. Body shops have been very busy (at least we have been) and this hail just makes things worse and with more and more parts issues it may be a while before things get fixed.
Michael BestPosts: 1203CharlesPosts: 1944May 12, 2022 at 7:37 pm #2124066Got caught about 1/4 mi from truck while on the state trail when the sirens went off. Got soaked and now Im hiding in the bathroom to avoid a mad lady. Brought 4 beers with me so may be awhile.
May 12, 2022 at 9:34 pm #2124104Some crazy cloud ahead of tonight’s storms. Has 6” in the rain gage when I got home. That’s since yesterday morning. My guess is 8” by tomorrow morning. Check out these cloud videos

DTCharlesPosts: 1944May 12, 2022 at 11:34 pm #2124145Looks like a lot of the big YouTube farmers out by ortonville got nailed big time.
May 13, 2022 at 6:56 am #2124154I sure hope the current forecast is correct. Currently only showing 1 day of rain in the next 14 ( Next Fri. ) It would be nice to have the wetlands behind the house dry up some. The sump pump is working overtime right now and could use a well earned vacation. 8” of rain in about a 48 hr. Period is more than enough for now. Nice looking forecast for the opener tomorrow. That forecast has been all over the place in the last 3 days. Hope with it only being 24 hrs away they have it right at this point.
May 13, 2022 at 8:05 am #2124159Heard some thunder around 11 last night but the road were dry this am. Wednesday was a pretty wild ride though.
I kept thinking of going up to the fly bridge and yelling “Is that all you got!!”, but not everyone would get the Forest Gump reference and someone would call the white jacket people again.

Not sure this will work
