Went to Upper Red Lake today. I forgot my pole for my livescope transducer. A tent pole from the shack, 3 zip ties and an ice scraper and we were in business. It worked just fine. It probably wouldn’t have worked in deeper water. You don’t need to waste your money on those expensive pole mounts.

No duct tape along. Fish were very neutral. If you blinked while holding your rod, the fish scattered.

The water was very murky. We caught fish on minnows, but it seemed like hard work.

I was there all weekend. Saturday was pretty good but you did have to work for them and we found crappie which was really fun. Yesterday was BRUTAL. Nothing wanted to eat.
