LX7LI question

I’ve been doing a lot of looking at new locators since I planned to upgrade. My initial plan was to go FLX-28 and stay with what I’ve know. The more I look and watch the Marcums the more I’m being swayed. My question is, do they make a soft case for the Lithium model? I see them for the regular LX7s but not the Lithium.

Nope and according to a conversation I had with Marcum a couple weeks ago, there are no immediate plans on creating a soft case.

I have and like my lx7. But don’t over look the helix options.

My question is why the lack of a soft case would prevent you from buying a product?

Are you talking about a Soft Case just for travel…throwing it in your truck, or while walking out portable in your sled or whatever?

I got the Trohpy Angler Deluxe bag for my LX7 with the Shuttle…it works perfectly, fits good, nice handle and inexpensive…picked mine up at LM Fleet for $19. I found that using the back zippers instead of the front makes it easier to slide in and out. Here is a link:

IMO, the Helix gives you the most value per dollar spent.

I picked one up towards the end of the season, so I can’t speak the long-term durability. But, the split screen function with flasher/2D sonar/GPS/sonar zoom/etc is lights out. The display is crystal clear and target separation appeared no differently than other brands I’ve owned (been a marcum guy for years). Battery life is very good. An underrated th

An underrated feature is having the time displayed on the screen. As a guy that’s always used your typical flasher, I’ve never had that….definitely a phone saver.

The things that really seals the deal for me is the GPS and the ability to transition to my boat seamlessly. It’s like a 2 for 1. Can’t wait to get out this summer and autochart my favorite hard water spots.

Honestly, if you are using it for a flasher and flasher only, lx-7 is the Better pick hands down.

Love my Lx7 but the soft case that came with it kinda sucks as far as I’m concerned. I bought a used back pack that I use and it works really well.

I’m gong to selling one of my lx7’s for $500, it’s about four years old and works like new, I just don’t need a back up one anymore. Let me know if your interested as I’ll be in the cities on Saturday for the sport show. I see your from se Wisconsin, I will be in Milwaukee the weekend of April 7.

Would have to agree with a couple others that have already responded. Don’t let the idea of no soft pack for the shuttle interfere with its effectiveness. I’m one that likes to do everything I can to protect my expensive gear too. From rod slicks to the Otter rod case I try to protect my investments as much as I can. As far as the shuttle it is very durable and IMO I think a soft pack would interfere negatively with my fishing. It’s a great unit and if taken care of and stored properly you should have no problem getting years of use out of it. I love the LX-7 on the shuttle and have had nothing but a positive experience with it waytogo

I appreciate all the responses. I guess it’s just that one more level of protection thing. I’ve always had a case on my Vexilars. Maybe it’s just one more thing that’ll take some time getting used too. I guess my biggest fear is that it looks like an Ipad. But after reading your responses I feel fairly comfortable about it. It’s just you drop 900$ you want to protect it as much as possible. SlabHunter I think I’ll order one of those cases.

You’ll be glad you did…also has a shoulder strap…having that little bit more protection makes sense IMO…you can keep it in the case while charging too…then when you are at the lake and ready to fish just slide it out of the case, grab the shuttle handle and you are good to go…slide it back in when done fishing.

I purchased the Clam Deluxe flasher case. They cost around $50 bucks but are well worth the money. The Marcum LX7 lithium shuttle fits perfectly and there are allots of pockets for storage. It also has a clear viewing window in case of bad weather. I wished it came in some other color than the Clam blue but the case itself is fantastic. Check it out.
