Just bought my lx 7 at the show and used it first time on the ice today. But after about 30 minutes of use the screen froze so I unplugged it and turned it on again but now the screen flickers and the transducer has crazy delay. Sometimes the screen freezes again. Tried the factory reset but same issues. Anyone have this experience before or is it just me?

How many volts does it show the battery has? Could be a weak battery from sitting for a long time and going bad.

Voltage reads 12.6 volts. Also tried back up battery.

Take it right to the guy who sold it to you and demand a new unit.

Call marcum sounds like something may have been jolted loose. My Lx7 did the same thing took it back to cabelas and upgraded to the Lx9

I’m having the same problem with my LX7. It’s one year old and worked flawlessly until I upgraded it. I’ve already talked to Marcum and will be getting a return authorization number on Monday to ship it in to have it checked out.

I’m guessing there is a glitch with their upgrade that they are maybe are not aware of.

They will make it right at marcum. Sorry to hear you had an issue I have never had one with my 7. You will be good to go when they go through it. Not sure it would be worth going through reeds for replacement.

I’m sure it’s something to do with the latest software too. My brother didn’t update his from last year and it works flawlessly. I’m sure reeds will tell me to contact marcum anyways. I’ll drop off my unit tomorrow at marcum and I’m sure they’ll get it fixed.

i saw this with a unit at cabelas and the guy told me some kids knocked it off the shelf and that is why it was a display unit. the unit may have been dropped. never had this issue with my LX7

Got my lx7 back from marcum today and they said a resistor inside on the pcb board was bad. They replaced it and now it looks ok. Gonna try it out on a local lake before heading up north for the weekend just incase it doesn’t read depths.
