LX5 thoughts/questions

So I used the LX5 today for the first time. Concern…when I would raise my lure the “blob” would raise as I raised my hand. When I dropped it, however, it would hesitate. Almost go in increments. So it was slower. Wasn’t in “real time”. (I verified with my camera). Is this normal with a marcum mechanical flasher? My old fl-18 didn’t do this. I had my LX7 as well and did the same move. Smooth as butter as far as “real time”. Break in period or something? Normal? Or do I have a motor issue? (I did try different batteries and had same result). I got the unit (brand new from reeds) on Tuesday and this was the first outing. Thoughts?

That is definitely not the norm..

My LX5 is as real time as it gets…

Not that this is the answer but what settings are you at?

    Depth
    Gain
    Zoom ?
    20deg/NBT ?
    SFL ?

Have you tried a different transducer?

If it’s not that I would think its something with the actual motor itself. Something is not relaying correctly.

Hey Dave. I was in 40′ of water. I threw everything at it that you mentioned. It was frustrating to say the least. Have an email to Marcum. Hopefully I hear back soon. I don’t mind sending it in. I just want it to work. I really liked it other than the “hesitation”.

Just thought I would update the situation…Marcum is having me send the unit in. I should get it back in a week or so. Hopefully they can find a solution!
