LX5 acting up

Hey guys I sold my LX7 end of last season after 4 years of little support for updates. I am now using my LX5 and I really like it.
But Im having an issue. The battery is fully charged but acts like there is interference from another flasher but there is no flasher near by. Then the circular display goes completely red after 5 minutes.

For those of you that have had battery issues did you experience the same thing. Im not against buying a new battery but thought I would check with others.

    Thank you!!!

Yes, that is reminiscent of what I have experienced on my LX3 when the battery was going bad.

Also make sure the connections to the battery are tight enough (may need to squeeze with pliers a bit), but sounds like mine did a few years ago when the battery went bad.

If you stop by Batteries Plus they will check the battery and run it under load to see if its dead free of charge.

Well it turns out it is not the battery tried a new one at Batteries plus in less than 30 seconds it does the same thing.

So back to Marcum she will go. This unit has very few hours on it too. Dog gone it. It is a good thing I have other sonars. I will wait till the season is over to bring it in

    Thanks Troutbum
Im a little frustrated with Marcum right now. After the LX7 and now the LX5 acting up. Oh well lets hope the ShowDown 5.6 holds up

Hope fully it is not much more than $80.00

I loved my lx5 but they said it was motor issue. My unit had the bouncing bottom. Got it back and first time out happened again to the point it was unable to be used. Got rid of it. Lx7 has been great so far.

I have the bottom bouncing issue with my lx3, It doesn’t seem to do it as much when the battery is full though. I’ll ride it out till the ice season is over and sell it and get a lx6

That issue is pretty poor. Like I said I loved my lx5 then that happened and they didn’t fix it even with a new motor. That had the most crisp display with sfl.
