it will be released when it’s ready…no point in releasing something with bugs just to get it out and then urine off your customers even more… it was being field tested, but then they found bugs, those bugs will get fixed and then it will be tested again…
March 2, 2016 at 1:28 pm #1603723Sorry NY guy. Most of us aren’t like that here.
You could try emailing Marcum with question.

[email protected]I went ahead and emailed them. Their response was no date yet.
March 2, 2016 at 5:08 pm #1603789no fix yet for their issues. I wish I would have gone LX5i but its to late now… I wouldn’t count on any software updates, the platform has been out long enough that if any update to fix common issues was made it would already be released.
March 2, 2016 at 6:51 pm #1603814While it sucks that the promised “Regular Updates” is more like 2+ years between updates, my LX-9 has worked just fine…those who claim their Digital LX model isn’t functional must be doing something wrong….
March 2, 2016 at 9:34 pm #1603861So because your’s work ‘just fine’ for you, I’m doing something wrong if I don’t like how mine functions?
I love how mine functioned, other than shallow water. I’m certainly not the only one with this complaint, so there must be a whole lot of people ‘doing something wrong’.
maddoggPosts: 415March 3, 2016 at 10:44 am #1603987My Lx6 marks a 3mm jig two feet under the transducer with the transducer half way out of the water with 14” of ice.

But will it mark it with the xducer down a foot?

Joemx is obviously better at running these digital marcums than many of us. Or, he’s happy with mediocrity.
The near transducer performance IS terrible. We shouldn’t need to run in open water mode and we shouldn’t have better shallow readings in narrow beam. That’s backasswards, pretty sure even even Joemx can see that.
My vex will read the lure ALL the way to the transducer. The LX5 never had this issue either, not quite as good as a Vex, but usable without reliance on setup tricks.
I’m not asking for yearly upgrades, only expecting the units to be fixed to work as a top of the line sonar should.
March 3, 2016 at 11:54 am #1604025I was talking about those who say they have all sorts of power issues and hardware glitches that supposedly make their LX device a pos… there are many user factors (weak battery, poor battery connections, poor handling, etc) that are likely leading to these types of issues vs something wrong with the device itself…If there was indeed a problem with hardware or software, you would likely see the entire product line affected, with a massive recall, not 1 guy here or there….
The shallow water issue has been acknowledged by Marcum awhile ago and unfortunately it’s taking longer than expected to resolve it via software.
That being said, I ran my LX-9 just fine in 5′ of water last weekend, if I fished any shallower, I might as well just stare down the hole and sight fish!
To each there own, I just wanted to point out I haven’t had any of these issues with my digital marcum… I’m a happy customer

March 3, 2016 at 10:00 pm #1604184I mean i can see my jig when i have it dialed in under 5 ft of water but why go through the hassle and have to change settings when you move to another hole
March 4, 2016 at 8:10 am #1604230yes, it’s not ideal, it’s a temp settings tweak that improves shallow water performance until the next update hopefully fixes it once and for all..
