How does the Lx-6/7 perform in the weeds or brush piles? I own a 5 and it works much better then the Vex 18 or the Lx1 in brush piles. I was wondering how the LCD performs against the old school flasher.

Depends on how you set it up and how thick the weeds are. I am a firm believer in the scrolling graph mode. You can see the red mark coming up thru the greens and the yellows no guessing if the fish is moving up or not. This mode also works great in detecting fish coming in tight to the bottom. As much as I liked my LX5 I would not go back to it after having my LX7. You have to work on setting the new units up to how you fish, there not exactly plug and play as the motored units but if you take a little time way superior. JMO
