Lvs32 double cable cracking issue

Just a heads up for anyone who has the original double cable design lvs32 transducer.
My lvs32 cable has finally cracked and from what I’ve researched online, it is a common issue with the original double wire transducer cable. My lvs32 cable was bought new in Nov. 2020 and is used strictly for the ice season. My system is out of its warranty period, I will contact Garmin to see what they say about this.

Yep, its a well known issue, there’s a huge market of 3D printer solutions to help alleviate it… Garmin used to replace them for free, but I think now they just offer a good discount on a new one…

Its rare to happen only from ice fishing though… Does yours have the smooth rubber bumper where the cable connects to the transducer head or the corrugated bumper? Garmin did the corrugated design as a quick fix before switching to the single cable…

Just a side note observation I came across today on FB about Garmin warranty.

LVS32 ducers are no longer being produced and they are now replacing warranties with LVS34.

Thanks Joe! I’m waiting to hear back from Garmin on this matter but Will definitely give the liquid tape a try as a last resort.

Update* Garmin came through and replaced my damaged transducer with the updated single cable design LVS32. The Garmin livescope system comes standard with a 2yr warranty New, mine was just out of warranty. The replacement transducer I received is a certified refurbished transducer and couldn’t be happier how everything turned out.

    Hey guys,
I have a brand new LVS34 I recently picked up with my first time using it this past weekend. I loved it for the 1 single day I was able to use it. I had my bag strap break, and evrything land on the transducer/pole. How were you guys able to contact Garmin to inquire about warranty? Did you have to go through a Garmin dealer or is there an online form to fill out? I can’t afford to go out and buy a new one as this was my grad gift to myself and could barely afford this setup lol. Thanks for any future help!

Good luck to you, but that wouldn’t be a warrantee type of claim. Since something fell on it to break it, I think you may be SOL. Hopefully you run into someone at Garmin that will go well beyond normal customer service, and get you a replacement.

I Agree, this isnt a warranty. At least not for Garmin. Ever wonder why companies dont honor warranties? Or become a pain to deal with about warranties, adding procedures, wait times, etc…..

If it was a 1 time used Garmin bag strap that broke why wouldnt it be a warranty thing.

I would say that’s absolutely a warranty issue as long as you have the receipt showing it was recently purchased new, a good picture of the strap threads pulling apart and you’re a good salesman…i’m sure the Garmin customer services reps have heard the “Strap broke” excuse many times, not saying yours isn’t legit…

Thank you guys for the quick responses! I’ll try my luck with that marine support number however, my bag is aftermarket and not Garmin’s carrying case, so I might be SOL. I was able to contact the supplier for my bag/shuttle and they were excellent for warrantying my bag, but the transducer is out of there scope I believe. I have all of my receipts and my unit registered etc. As for when I got it, I got the whole package for that big sale they had there end of November/early December. Last weekend was just the first time I was able to get some time to go out. Hopefully thats not too big of a window there.
