For those of you using brew city poles for your livescope transducer, I have a few questions. Once the pole is in your mount, or whatever tracking system you’re using, do you run with it throughout the day locked in parallel or do you take it off and set it on the floor of your boat? Also, how and where do you store it while traveling to and from the lake? Do you do anything with the transducer to help protect and secure?

I honestly just got my summer set up late last year so have yet to actually use it so will be following. My plan was once it is set up and I’m on the lake was to keep it in stow position but leave it mounted if it doesn’t bang around to bad. As far as protecting the ducer they make neoprene pouches for them and I have one of those. The brand I went with is called Net Buddy they are $19.99.

I run on the water with it parallel. No issues with it. Locks in very nicely.

If driving on trailer, I do take it off and put it on the floor of the boat.

I usually leave it in the mount when running spot to spot. One thing that I do is slide the pole up and lock the collar about half way down the shaft so there is less flex/bouncing when going over waves. Still have it parallel but the pivot point is in the middle…hopefully that makes sense. If it’s really nasty I take it all the way out and put on floor.

I have the net buddy cover for when out of the boat (have stand alone shuttle)

I turn mine parallel when moving and slide it to the center so it won’t flex much. When I bought mine I had brew city make the shaft in two pieces so I could take it apart and store it in a compartment when I wasn’t using it.

Great info so far thanks. Like the idea of balancing the bar in the middle while parallel and running. I have the neoprene net buddy cover and a hard HD Innov hard cover for the ducer. Maybe for long trips wrap the ducer in a towel or put a life jacket around it. That bouncing could be hard on a ducer I’d think.

On the water I have mine parallel when trailering I put it on the inside of the boat parallel. never had a problem. I have mine mounted on a rail.

I have mine parallel inside the boat when transporting with the transducer end supported by a RAM mount with a claw that’s attached to the SportTrak on my Alaskan with a cover on the transducer. It works well.

What these guys said. I have the ice fishing bundle with a Brew City pole. Before I got the perspective mount, I wrapped the transducer in a towel. The perspective mount is easily removed and I place the transducer in the side pocket of the carrying bag.
I have a tiller and the pole is usually mounted just to the rear of the middle of the boat. Not as much bouncing as if it was mounted in the bow.
