Dad found a hold over 2009 Lund 1725 Pro Guide Crappie Edition. 70 horse Merc 4 stroke. Price is $19,500 after Lund $1000 rebate. The dealer said he’d throw a Minn Kota Vantage 80# thrust and splash guards on the boat for around $1000. This boat also includes a travel cover. I think this is a very good deal, Mom want’s me to shop around for him.

Anybody have any thoughts on this? Just curious.

Also we’ve know this dealer for most our lives, his service is very good and he’s a reputable guy.

I can’t vouch for the price, but there is a lot to be said about buying a boat from a dealer whom you know and trust.

Check out the classifieds boats on ido. There is 1775 Lund 4 sale by J Jones in your price range that is can I say nicer than new. This guy has serious organizational and cleaning issues and it is flawless. He also has a part time job at Cabela’s and purchased every add on possible for the boat.

Mercury doesn’t make a 70hp 4 stroke, but if it’s a 60, it’s underpowered. If it’s the 75 4S, the deal sounds fair. I’d still try to get them to “sweeten” the pot by adding the SmartCraft SC1000 tach, so you get the troll-control feature, unless it’s already been added to the Big Tiller handle.

I hope it’s not this one, listed at $18,699.

Apparently that’s one of two Pro Guides he has. Dad was looking at a black one. Thanks for the heads up anyway.

Thanks for the heads up. Checked it out, but Dad really wants a Tiller. He’s not even putting a bow mount trolling motor on.

He’s sticking with the backtrolling techniques. I guess that’s what happens when you’ve grew up on Leech and Winnie in the 50’s and 60’s. The technique of choice being back trolling. He hasn’t had a boat for the last 8 years. I’m hoping he’ll get back into it.

I told him to hurry up and buy it and drag it down here. Pretty exciting to get to use your new boat right away (Pool 4) when you bought it in Jan./Feb. No waiting to play with your new toy.

He’s outfitting it with an 80# thrust Minn Kota Vantage. Not sure what screen size HB he’ll be putting in, but he’ll be going with the side imaging. Guess it depends on what he can find for prices an wants to spend. I told him he needs to find a clearance 997c.
