Calling all Lund Impact owners

I have a 2011 1775/ 115 opti. So far its been great. Have had it on Pepin, Leech, and Rainy in some pretty good chops and she handled it pretty well. As far as the trolling motor when its windy, can be irritating. Kind of a light boat and can get pushed around, so now I just deploy a drift sock and that help a lot. Have the bunk trailer with no brakes. Love that trailer, boat, motor so far. Its not a Ranger but she works well for me on the river and even the big lakes. Good luck.

Sorry- not a lund owner but have fished out of many-super nice boats but I were you- have messed up back as well- I wouldn’t sell the ranger. Way easier to load. Keep the range- get some smooth mooves and call it good- don’t think you could beat that. My 2cents-

Thanks, I do love my current 617, but looking down the road, I was thinking that having something lighter to push around the garage ( and a 1775 set up is quite a bit lighter ) would have some benefits.

You are correct though, the transition to a new trailer from what I have with my ranger is a big consideration.

I was looking at the impact last year and ended up getting the pro v 1775 for almost the same price by buying up north. Do your shopping if price is a sticking point for you. No personal experience with the 115’s because I went with the Merc 150 4stroke and am very happy, all the way from 2 mph at 500 rpm to 51 mph at 5800 rpm.

On the brakes, I would not hesitate for 1 second to get at least surge brakes, as from what I have seen, they last about 10 years even with almost 5000 miles a year on a shorelander trailer. And a loaded impact or pro v 1775 comes darn close to 3000lbs so the extra piece of mind has been nice for me. I also went with a galvanized trailer, as for the extra $400 will be a lot cheaper than reprinting the trailer in 5-10 years as I do drive some gravel.

Fishing wise, I have really liked the boat, from small lakes to the pond and winny.
