Not burning oil, but just sitting in storage – not started for a couple of months – opened up the rear storage compartment that houses my oil reservour and about fell over from the smell.
Is it just the xd100 oil in storage that smells like rotting beef carcasses? (Ren & Stimpy reference)
Is there any way to get that smell out of there while still in storage? Or do I need to put it outside for 3 days to air out?

Personally I think all Etecs stink.
Sorry I can’t help you with the smell.
Take a small bottle of hydrogen peroxide, two table spoons of baking soda and two table spoons dawn dish soap mix it together. Pour it in a spray bottle and give the compartment a good coat.
The mix works grate for getting skunk and other bad smell out of dogs and clothes. Might work for your problem to.
