Today I finished rigging a new Lund 1875 SE with a 200 Opti. So I took the boat out to Big Pine Lake to test it out before delivery. I was very impressed with the performance of the new boat. The wind was blowing around 25-30, which meant a pretty good walleye chop. Well anyways I brought the boat up too 55mph before she got a little hairy with the rough conditions. More time playing with the prop and I believe that boat will run close to 60mph in better conditions. It was really quick out of the whole. Nice ride. Tomorrow hopefully I can get my new 1975 IFS out and get some break-in time.

R_Guy, that’s an impressive mph number for a brand spank’in new motor. GPS speed?

Correct GPS speed it was. The boat was also equipped with a 9.9 pro-kicker, 24 volt vantage 80lb thrust, and a 24 volt 80lb thrust terrova, a cranking battery with two 29 series interstate deep cells and 10 gallons of gas. I was actually hitting the rev limiter which is why the speed was only 55mph, so their is more speed yet with a higher pitch prop. I am waiting for a 21 degree tempast 2 and then I will try it again. The boat is an absolute rocket. I had two gps’s to go from, one lowrance LCX 27 and a 998 Hummingbird. This boat is for a Lund prostaff walleye fisherman, Craig Teal.

Ok with a 21 Laser the boat ran 60 mph. These new 1875’s are one fast boat for a walleye fisherperson.

Single consel boat. Maybe tomorrow I can Lake test a 1875 IFS with a 200 Verado. The 1875 seems to be a hot ticket here in Perham. We have three of them in the rigging stall just waiting to hit the water. hopefully the weather is better on Saturday.

I really liked that boat when I saw it at the show. Looked to be a good value in it’s class as well. 60 mph with a good load is impressive. I will be getting my new pro guide on Monday, can’t wait to join the Lund club.

I lake tested the 1875 IFS with 200 Verado today. It had a 19 degree Lazor 2 prop on it. The motor ran at peak rpm which was 8400 rpms. The boat would only get 53 mph out of it. With a bit more playing around with props I do believe I could get close to 56 out of it. The lazor 2 prop performed well out of the whole. I just think the Opti has a little more beans than the Verado. hopefully someone will buy a 1875 se with a 200 Verado and then I can see if it is just the full windshield slowing down the mph. I also ran my 1975 IFS w/225 pro-xs and got 56 mph with two people, a full tank of gas, kicker, 101 terrova and full of batteries and chargers. I am happy with the results, but will try a few more props out just to satisfy my curiosity. The pro-angler is a sweet boat, you will like it.

    Do you mean 6400 rpms?

Is that hard on a new motor without any breakin time?

No it is not hard on the motor, if anything it breaks them in correctly in my opinion and they are made to run the rpms listed in each motors rpm range listed in the manual. I have been lake testing boats for over 20 years now. I have had two motors grenade on me and those two were idling away from the dock. I know you will want to debate this, but we lake test our boats to give the customer a boat that performs and if we dont ensure the motor has the right prop and the motor is functioning properly we dont get a satisfied customer.

I have a 1875 pro v ifs with a 200 verado, it runs 53-54 @ 6200 rpm with a tempest plus 21p, any sugestions on which prop to try next to get over the 55 mark, I don’t know if a 23p would be too much.

A blueprinted and balance 21 tempest will get you a couple more mph.
