2001 pro sport, that sidewall bump out where I have the pole laying angled, aside from flotation foam (and eventually the outer hull) anyone here know if there is anything behind it that would react poorly to a couple screws sticking into the cavity? I know all the electrical and steering/throttle controls go just under the top of the tunnel in a chase as does the fuel line on the opposite side so I can’t think of anything else there could be, bit figured i would check if amyome had first hand knowledge.

I’d be careful and I think you are. Any way to get that cup holder out (never pulled one likely glued in) then you could shine a flashlight in there to inspect.

I know with my luck I’d shoot a screw through the speedo tube, or a wire that would break when out on the lake. Even the sharp end of a screw could cause latent damage and never at the right time. Otherwise, can you get one of those USB LED lit cable cameras for a laptop or phone and fish that in there in the cup drain hole (enlarge a little), or from any other grommet that may lead wires through that area.

    Best of luck

I did pop the cup holder, alli can see is sprayed in flotation foam.

I want to make and install two (on each side)rod holder ‘tubes’ to hold the rods I have out while running around. This spring I broke a reel handle and then a rod in two incidents with poles I had out loose in the boat (need to make some rod tubes to put into the side rod lockers too, as it is now getting rods in and out is a pain, esp. starboard because of the motor controls also in there, hence the reason I don’t put them back in right away).

Did you e-mail Lund directly? They are a little slow, but they do respond.

My guess is, if it is full of foam you are safe.

I’d think you would be fine, if they foamed behind there I am guessing no wires or anything.

the finished product. 2 more to install on the other side so that you can move them over if I’m the way. Only have one bracket on each mostly because I failed at math and bought half what I needed, but seem solid with just one, if they start getting wiggly I’ll and a second holder hold both.

Think it maybe cost me 20 bucks and that was mostly in primer/paint/clear coat.
