Anyone out there have one? Specifically the 186? These seem to come up on the used market fairly frequently, and for much less than other Lund Glass, or the comparable Ranger/Skeeter’s. Am I missing something on these?

    It porpoises pretty bad

Thanks, that’s what I was wondering, there must be a common issue among them.

In general I have heard the lund glass boats have a pretty bad ride. On the lund owners facebook group somebody mentioned that the molds have been changed and it has been corrected.

    They’re pretty sweet boats, I had a 2012 186 Tyee GL with a 175 v-rod for a couple years.

A lot of them were set up wrong (IMO).

Mine had porpoise issues at cruise speeds (23-35 mph) when I got it, even trimmed down. The porpoise went away at higher speeds.

After some research, I thought my motor was mounted too low. I had Frankie’s raise it one hole and it was a totally different boat. Virtually zero porpoise with the right trim.

If you see one you like, take it for a spin waytogo

As for the ride, keep in mind it’s only an 18′ boat.

Make sure it’s maxed out on HP for the year you’re looking at (earlier models were 175, later was raised to 200).

I’ve seen a couple out there with 150’s, stay away from those if you see one.

Feel free to PM me your # if you’d like more info (props, PVS plugs, etc)
