    Hello,

I am looking at a couple of used Lund’s to purchase and am looking for advice from current owners on which one to go with. One is a 2018 Rebel XS Sport with a 90Hp Merc. The second is a 2016 1775 Impact with a 115Hp Merc. Both are in good shape with low hours. The Impact is about $5000 more. This will be used as a family/ fishing boat. Mostly family except for my 2 weeks in Canada every year and when I can sneak out on my own. This will be a big step up from my 14′ 1975 Whaler so just want to make the right choice.

    Thanks!

I’d go Impact and it’s not very close imo. A 1650 is going to be tight for a family, the Rebel is also narrower as well by about a foot I believe, and the extra HP will come in handy for tubing or skiing.

^^^^^^^ what he said! The Rebel XS is a little too narrow for the weight of the 90, the Impact will be a better overall package.

I’ll agree with the two previous responses. I have a 1775 Impact XS and it is what I believe to be a perfect family boat. Granted, I don’t have kids yet. there’s plenty of space for when I do.

How big is the family? What are your plans with the boat? Ski? Tube? How big kids? What style of fishing? How often do you get out in a year?

$5k more can mean alot for you, it can mean little.

I’d bring the family with and sit in each of the boats. That should tell you alot.

My young family was more than happy in just a 14′, they speak many good memories of all the boats we’ve had. At the end of the day it’s not the boat that creates memories.

But yes it’s nice when they get big to have a lil more room.
