    I recently bought a 2015 LUND REBEL 1650. I have a few questions

Is the sport track on 2015 the same as a 2022?

It has a 60hp Merc 3 bladed prop. Do any of you run a 4 blade. I know there is a whole bunch of scenarios on props. Just more curious. Fishing mainly with 2 people and stuff.

Rig has 100 hours with no boat rash.

    Thanks

I have a 17.5 foot aluminum boat with a 75 hp 4-stroke outboard on it. I mostly fish with 1 other person, or by myself.

I use a 4-blade aluminum prop. I tinkered around with a couple of 3-blade props in various pitches two years ago and the performance was worse than with the 4-blade. The prop specialist was fully convinced I would get better top end speed out of a 3-blade, and he was dead wrong. They allowed me to return both of the 3-blades back to the prop shop for a full refund.

Eventually I may go to a 4-blade SS prop but with water levels so low right now I’m worried about damaging it so for now I’m sticking with the aluminum version.

All depends on the boat. My 16′ Crestliner with a 40 tiller runs 1-2mph faster with a 3 blade aluminum compared to the 4 blade aluminum, and as much as 3mph faster with a 3 blade stainless. The 3 blade doesn’t lift the stern as much, so it can lift the bow better. It is slightly slower out of the hole though. When I got the new engine last winter I also hung it about 1.5″ higher than it was since new. That along with trim really woke that little boat up!

This is with me, a 90lb dog, and two group 29 batteries in the bow for reference.

Thanks. Will look at it in the spring. Is there a propeller shop in east metro?
