Do you guys lube the shaft on your trolling motor? It seems like it might be a good idea, but I would think something like WD-40 would collect dirt. Would a dry lube be appropriate to use on it?

Only when cold, I hose mine down with wd40 to prevent, or should I say, reduce, freeze up.

What shade do you use? All the time or do you switch shades from day time to evening?

Dry Graphite works. Been debating trying to treat it with FrogLube gun lube paste…I treat my door hinges in my house with it to stop squeaking and always get the “are you chewing tobacco in the house?!” line…It smells like Grizzly Wintergreen…

Armor All was an absolute must back when I had a powerdrive. My dad who still has a powerdrive does the same thing.

My terrova I don’t do anything with except in the winter.
