How do you get water spots off the screen on the HDS units? I tried using the cloth that came with it. Is there any type of cleaners that you can use that wont damage the screen?

White Viniger and water seems to work best for me.

I purchased two small bottles of lens cleaner and emptied one and put 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water. I clean it first with the vinegar water mix and then the lens cleaner. Perfect every time!.

I use a cleaner that is made for flat panel monitors. It’s worked pretty good. I’ll have to give the vinegar/water mix a try to keep in the boat.

Dampen the corner of a towel with regular water and wipe it off. Then wipe it dry with a different part of the towel.

It’s all I’ve ever used, it works and it won’t damage your screen.

JBB gave me some lens cleaner when we were out fishing. The packs come with the soft towel and the solution. I spray it on the little towel and then wipe the screen. Works Great

Don’t know if the screens are made the same way as our big screen at home or not but, our dealer for the hdtv told me to wipe using a micro fiber cloth in a up and down direction and not side to side. Had to do with the way the screen was made from the manufacture. My 2c.

windex, vinegar and water, soap and water all work just fine. And to do a pre-emptive strike before somebody blasts me for saying windex, it is perfectly safe to use windex. The below is from Lowrance’s website.

    * Cleaning the Screen: Warm water and soap will work fine. You can also use ammonia-type cleaners like Windex. Do not use any type of abrasive cleaners. They will remove the Anti-Reflection coating from the glass.
