Buying Lowrance Unit

    Quick questin guys. I’m going to be ordering 2 HDS 8 units. Is the Insight worth the money? I usally just fish Wisconsin. And I do fish most of the Great Lakes also. Anything else I should know before I hit the Savings Acct. would be greatly apprieciated. Thanks

    When I upgarded my 1st LCX 112 to HDS 10 I got it with Insight. Shortly after, I upgraded my other LCX112 to HDS 10 and got that one with base. Being as I’m a WI, MN, SD and some great lakes fisherman, I haven’t used insight.. not once. For me, it certainly is not needed. On the other hand, I have enough lake chips to make sure all units have a chip in it.

    I would go with the base unit, then get a Navionics chip for the area you are going to fish, you cannot zoom in as close with insight mapping

    Yeah dont waste your money on insight. I prefer lakemaster maps myself but either lakemaster or navionics would be all you need.

    I agree with the others. Insight is nice, but I prefer Lakemaster or Navionics maps.

    Don’t forget about the rebate Lowrance is offering right now.
