Transducer LSS-1 and HDS-8 – how to connect electr

    Hi,

I have a few questions about the structure of an LSS-scan sonar and Lowrance HDS-8-transducer 83/200:

    1. Are these devices can be powered from a battery? If yes, what I should be the volume – how many Ah?

    2. Which solution is better fitting:

2A. Two transducer – one by one

2B. Two transducer side by side

3 What should be the minimum distance between the Transducer 83/200 (HDS-8) and StructureScan Transducer

    3A

    3B

4 As the difference in the level should be between 83/200 Transducer (HDS-8) and StructureScan Transducer -? Do I have to mount them on the same level or better for one was a few inches above and one below?

    4A

    4B

    5. Seeking a proven way to mount the transducer both portable installation

    6. Does anyone have any videos or photos on a portable transducer mounting HDS-8 and a LSS-1

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

The 83/200 Broadband sonar transducer can only get power through a Lowrance head unit. It plugs into the back of the unit. The 455/800 Structure Scan transducer plugs into the LSS-1 module and gets its power through it.

These are two different frequency ducers so there is no interference between them. Distances between them doesn’t seem to matter. The thing to look for is to make sure that the LSS-1 transducer is not blocked from sending to either side. If it is blocked by an engine or jack plate for example your side scan ability will be compromised.

Thanks for answer but i have one more question i read somewhere that distance between LSS-1 Transducer and 2D Transducer should be max 300 mm min 30 mm. Can someone confirm that ?

Do you have maybe diagram with all installation from battery to each unit or do you know from where i can download or check that ?

The reason for having the transducers fairly close is so when you use your unit in split screen and you are looking at Downscan and Broadband sonar, both screens will be showing you the same thing if the ducers are positioned close enough together.

I want to buy gel battery but i don’t know how many Ah should have and it can’t be one or it’s should be one for HDS and one for LSS-1.
