Lowrance LCX20C software update

    My lcx20c will not read the mmc card the update files are on. I have tried both mmc and sd cards, both cards are new. It will read my navionics card. The unit indicates there is no card installed. Help!

    What size card are you using?

    Is the update the only item on the card?

    Are you making sure the update downloaded to the card?

    Power the unit completly off. Insert MMC/SD card with update on, then power unit back on. If the LCX20 doesn’t read the update, then most likely the update didn’t save properly to the MMC/SD card.

    I had the same issue and customer service said can’t have bigger than a 1GB SD card. I finally found one this small and it did the trick.

    Make sure it is formatted FAT32 and not NTFS.

    My mmc card is a 128mb. All files are on the card and appear to be loaded correctly. How do I find out how my card is formated?

    Put card in your PC card reader.
    Goto My Computer
    Right mouse click your sd card
    navigate to properties and click

    you should see

    File system: FAT32

    The card is formated Fat32. Still won’t work.

    It has to be FAT formatted, not FAT 32.
