I added a HDS unit..Advantage to adding a network?

    I was running a 520c at the consel and a 332c on the bow. They are networked and share one GPS antenna.

    I just bought a HDS 5x which is sonar only. Would there be any advantage to adding the HDS unit to the network? The HDS will be used for the sonar at the consel and the 520 will primarily be used for mapping at the consel. I was just curious if networking would gain me anything??? I would like to use these units to all possible capabilites.

    I can’t think of any advantages and I am not sure you can network the HDS units with older units.
