Get a chip and enjoy. You will wonder how you ever fished without it!

The chip is plug and play. The navigation system with the HDS units is quite different from what you’re used to with the older Lowrance units so plan to spend your first 30 minutes in the boat getting up to speed on how to access basic functions like sensitivity, depth range, etc.

If its a Lakemaster chip make sure its the correct version for the HDS unit. Pretty sure its any chip version ending in .1 Also check Lowrances website and see if your updated to the current software for the unit itself.

Steve O, I cant remember the exact key strokes to get into it but there are a few things you want to do immediately. First set the transducer your running. The little tag on the back of the Plug says its #. Then set the water depth you usually fish in. Shallow is under 400ft if I remember correctly. There is a video on You tube about it from a lowrance rep. Google it you will see. Basics of Setting up your Lowrance

    Hope this helps!

I did set for shallow. Weird thing is when my display comes up both sides of the screen show gps and not gps/sonar? I put in a lake master wisconsin pro map lpw1c09. Thinking this must not be compatible?

There are many different page options. You are currently

running Chart/Chart. Change it to Chart/Sonar or Sonar/Chart.

Press the pages key to scroll through the pages and you’ll find where you can change it.

You’ll need a blank SD card and a card reader.

If you want to swing by Oakdale I can give you the update
    or do it for you.
