Hey guys can you structure scan on a hds5? I don’t think finacially I can afford the 10 so I was thinking a 7 on the console and 5 on the bow

Yes you can view the Structure Scan on the HDS5 (not sure on the 5 elite though). The problem is the 5 and 7 will be limited in how you can split the screen and obviously size. The 8 & 10 offer more options on screen splitting. The 2 larger sizes also have another (2) SD card slots as well as soft keys along the bottom.

I run 2-7s and have extra hook ups at my tiller dash to run both units at the handle when I’m working from the back of the boat. I reccomend this if you work in one spot of the boat a lot. All you need is an extra power cable and network cord. The LSS-1 module is capable of running upto 3 units/locations. Sturcture scan and map on one sceen and side scan on the other or any thing inbetween….

You can run it on a 5, but you can’t see it very well. I have a 5 and a 7, and the 5 won’t make it to next spring. It works fine for the downscan, but you can’t see the detail on the sidescan well enough IMO to make it worthwhile. I would skip the 5 and go right to the 7 or larger. I think you will be much happier.

I will see what my budget is. I need to try and upgrade trolling motor to. We have a 12v power drive now and talk about junk lol. My buddy has a 36 terrova and thats what I will be getting
